Primary Music Festival
Children from across the seven Compass schools gave a sensational performance to their families, trustees and governors at their first Spring Concert, hosted by The Halley Academy.
It was the first time that all seven schools have come together to perform, and we were treated to a variety of catchy numbers from the respective school choirs, as well as to some rousing whole-group performances in which all of the children came together to sing.
Children from Willow Dene School started the event off with a knee-tapping ‘jammin’ session live on stage. The South Rise Bateria band gave a mesmerising performance. Halstow’s orchestra showcased their musical talents with a rendition of the James Bond theme tune. For Alderwood choir it was the first time that many of the children had ever performed to a live audience and they did a sterling job with their performance of ‘Feed the World’. Deansfield choir demonstrated their skilful ability to harmonise which was most impressive. Horn Park treated us to a fantastic visual display with their fabulous performance of ‘Eye of the Tiger’ and Wingfield shone with their rendition of ‘Shake it Off’. Our very own popular Halley drummers performed and our student leaders helped run the evening and we couldn’t have done it without them. The concert came to an end all too quickly, finishing with a pop medley performed together by all of the schools. The children were absolutely fantastic and we are looking forward to the next concert.
The Halley Academy would like to thank the brilliant staff from South Rise staff who ensured the quality of the performances were first-rate and that the children performed to a packed hall! There were some very proud parents and carers. The energy in our main hall was incredible and we look forward to working with you all again soon.
